James - yes it is totally intentional. She will have purple scales and red hair to be even more deliberately reminiscent of Kirby's magnificent Madame Medusa of the Inhumans!
When I first saw your Lamia with the scales and stripes on her legs and arms, the Kirby character that came to my mind was Barda (probably my favourite of the New Gods pantheon).
But it totally makes sense to reference Medusa, because of the hair and regal appearence, good call!
The stripes on the legs and arms WERE inspired by Barda! And of course the "real" Lamia had scales so I looked at Barda's scaly uniform *and* Triton of the Inhumans. And Gorgon with his weird legs is in there too - but that's because the real Lamia has goat legs as well.

Whoa.
I really, really like her - I sense a "Kirby-esque" vibe about her looks, was that intentional?
She looks crazy wicked!
